Since 2005 the Tafelkreis in Krumbach has been a registered and non-profit organization. A total of 129 members (88 active and 41 passive) distribute groceries to socially and economically disadvantaged people once a week in the parish of St. Michael. Thanks to the generous donation of money from UTT Technische Textilien GmbH & Co KG, a subsidiary of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, Mr. Zinsler, chairman of the Tafelkreis and his team can buy more groceries for people in need.

Every Monday quality food donations are picked up with the association’s own refrigerated vehicle in local bakeries and supermarkets who couldn’t sell these products. The goods are cleaned, prepared and put together for handing out to people in need. The group of people in need includes e.g. low-wage earners, pensioners or single parents. The neediness of the people is determined on the basis of official documents, such as pension or social assistance notices. For families with children, a bag for school break is packed weekly, which the children receive free of charge. For the other goods, a symbolic contribution of 1 € per adult is charged.

The association “Offener Tafelkreis Krumbach” is financed by membership fees and donations. The association purchases groceries such as vegetables (including from Dominikus Ringeisenwerk in Ursberg), flour, sugar and drugstore items. Expenses such as rent, insurance or petrol are also paid by membership fees and donations. Especially in the challenging times of corona restrictions UTT wants to help and therefore supports the Tafelkreis with a donation of 5.000 €. The donation was accepted by the team of the Tafelkreis thankfully and joyfully.
